As part of its recent publications “Dynamics of civil society in the southern Mediterranean region”, Majalat is organizing a new round table on migration and social and climate justice. The event will take place on June 25, 2021 in Rabat and will be inaugurated by Her Excellency Ms. Claudia Wiedey, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the European Union in Morocco.
Bringing together national political decision-makers, representatives of the European Union Delegation in Morocco as well as civil society actors, this round table aims to present recommendations and researches related to the themes of migration and social justice and climate while examining the regional dimensions and their national implimentation. Discussions will consist of a structured dialogue which will also take into account the health crisis, the renewal of the partnership between the European Union and the Euro-Mediterranean region as well as the Joint Communication of the European Commission on these issues.
Recent publications by Majalat on these two themes are particularly interested in the protection of seasonal migrant workers in Europe and in the region, the repercussions of the new partnership between the European Union and its southern neighborhood on the protection of migrants, funding and investments linked to NDICI as well as to the Green deal and national adaptation policies.
