As part of its recent publications on "Dynamics of civil society in the southern Mediterranean region", Majalat is organizing a new round table on the themes of youth and economic development and social dialogue. The event will take place on June 30, 2021, in Beirut and will be inaugurated by His Excellency Mr. Ralph Tarraf, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union in Lebanon. Considering the current health context, the event will also be available online.

National political decision-makers, representatives of the of the European Union Delegation in Lebanon as well as actors of civil society will discuss during this meeting themes of youth and economic development and social dialogue. The regional implimentation of Majalat's researches on these themes will also be discussed and the debate will take into account the health crisis and the renewal of the partnership between the European Union and the Euro-Mediterranean region.

Majalat researches on economic development and social dialogue analyzed the socio-economic needs of the countries of the South following the pandemic and the political responses provided within the framework of the partnership with the EU and reviewed the lessons learned from the assessment of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) negotiations. The publications related to the theme of youth established the findings of young activists' action and youth CSOs in the region and resulted in a series of recommendations aimed at strengthening the capacities of these young people in terms of advocacy and fundraising and management of funds.
