Following the success of the first edition of “Med Dialogue Leaders” on ecological challenges, the EU-funded Med Dialogue for Rights and Equality project has launched its second edition with the organisation of a “bootcamp” Aimed at building the capacity of 32 young leaders, focusing on “Entrepreneurship for the Social and Solidarity Economy”.

In light of the latest developments related to Covid-19, the bootcamp will take place online from October 14 to 18, 2020, and will bring together participants from 10 Arab countries (Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia).

The three public sessions will be broadcast live on the project’s Facebook page according to the following schedule: - 16 October: Virtual field visit to the Istanbul City Lab Experience Center (a well-known urban innovation centre) to discuss the innovative projects implemented.

- 16 October: virtual debate with economist Leonardo Becchetti on new economic trends in Europe.

- 17 October: virtual debate with entrepreneur Mohamed Madhkour on the new Tunisian law on social and solidarity economy.

Med Dialogue for Rights and Equality is an EU-funded technical assistance programme with the overall objective of strengthening the role of regional CSOs in building sustainable development, regional cohesion and resilience, and political decision-making in the southern neighbourhood and the Euro-Mediterranean area. Mobilising local communities on regional issues of common interest to influence the agenda of policy makers and regional institutions, and involving CSOs in regional agendas and emerging thematic dialogues" is its main feature.
